Over 100 members enjoyed the Mill at Sonning's production of the well-known Hollywood musical which originally starred Danny Kaye and Bing Crosby
Based on the Paramount Pictures film of the 1950s, The Mill managed to capture the main storyline with an energetic cast of singers and dancers and a very clever setting in the confines of this intimate theatre, linked to a host of special effects including a mini snow storm at the conclusion of the show.
White Christmas is a heart-warming musical featuring captivating songs by Irving Berlin. The story centres around two former World War II soldiers, Bob Wallace and Phil Davis, who become successful showmen after the war. They meet a sister act, Betty and Judy Haynes, and the four team up to perform a Christmas show in rural Vermont. When they arrive, they discover the inn is run by their former army commander, General Waverly, who is struggling to keep it afloat. To save the inn, they plan a spectacular holiday performance. Love, laughter, and iconic songs like "White Christmas" ensue, making it a festive favourite.
