The Christmas production of High Society at The Mill at Sonning

Two separate groups of RSTC members braved the Sonning floods to enjoy the Christmas production of High Society at The Mill. Set in the Long Island resort of Oyster Bay in 1958, High Society is based on the film Philadelphia Story and portrays the ‘wedding of the year’ and the society party leading up to it. Long Island socialite Tracy Lord is planning her lavish High Society nuptials with 700 guests and oceans of champagne. But who exactly will be the groom? Full of well-known numbers such as ‘Who wants to be a Millionaire’, ‘I Love Paris’ and ‘True Love’, the production moves at a lively pace. Directed by Joseph Pitcher with a cast well-versed in West End musical theatre, this production earned a 4* review in The Times.
